C2C Crochet Cowl

C2C Crochet Cowl – An easy and basic corner to corner cowl, this is the first design I have written in this beautiful stitch, once I got crocheting, I could not believe how easy it was to make.

This free cowl pattern is made with a variegated yarn and written in USA and UK formats, both are listed below.

Group.   (sl st, ch3, 3dc) in same space or stitch.

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

ch2 counts as first hdc
ch3 counts as first dc

Finished Size:  Approx 13.5 x 27 Inches

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn I have used approximately:-

75 grams of Lion Brand Cupcake

5.50mm Clover Crochet Hook

GAUGE – one group & one row measures approx 1 inch

ch6, work 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 2ch’s. Turn. (1 group)

2nd Row – (Inc Row) ch6, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 2ch’s, skip 3dc, (sl st, ch3, 3dc) in the ch3 space. Turn. (2 groups)

3rd Row – (Inc Row) ch6, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 2ch’s, skip 3dc, (sl st, ch3, 3dc) in next ch3 space, skip 3dc, (sl st, ch3, 3dc) in last ch3 space. Turn. (3 groups)

4th Row – (Inc Row) ch6, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 2ch’s, * skip 3dc, (sl st, ch3, 3dc) in next ch3 space, * rpt from * to * to last group, skip 3dc, (sl st, ch3, 3dc) in ch3 space. Turn.

Rpt 4th Row until 28 rows have been worked in all from beginning or you have 28 groups, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row to make a round. Turn.

Neck Edge – ch2, 2hdc in base of ch2, * skip 3dc, sl st in ch3 space, 3hdc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last group, skip 3dc, sl st to first hdc on beginning of row.

Next Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each hdc and sl st to end.

Fasten off.

Cowl Edge – Join yarn with a sc to the slip stitch join, work sc evenly in row ends around cowl edge to end, working (1sc, ch2, 1sc) in the point, sl st to first sc on beginning of row.

Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off loose ends of yarn.

Make 6ch, work 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each of next 2ch. Turn. (1 group)

2nd Row – (Inc Row) 6ch, 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each of next 2ch, miss 3tr, (1ss, 3ch, 3tr) into the 3ch space. Turn. (2 groups)

3rd Row – (Inc Row) 6ch, 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each of next 2ch, miss 3tr, (1ss, 3ch, 3tr) into next 3ch space, miss 3tr, (1ss, 3ch, 3tr) into last 3ch space. Turn. (3 groups)

4th Row – (Inc Row) 6ch, 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each of next 2ch, * miss 3tr, (1ss, 3ch, 3tr) into next 3ch space, * rpt from * to * to last group, miss 3tr, (1ss, 3ch, 3tr) into 3ch space. Turn.

Rpt 4th Row until 28 rows have been worked in all from beginning or you have 28 groups, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row to make a round. Turn.
