Crochet Beginners Scarf

This crochet beginners scarf is made in a basic double crochet stitch from beginning to end, it includes simple increasing and decreasing stitches.

If you are out and about on a cool summer evening it is ideal to throw around your neck.

Abbreviations
ch.
      Chain
st.       Stitch(es)
dc.      Double Crochet
rpt.    Repeat
yo.     Yarn Over
Inc.   Increase

Dec. (Decrease) by dc2tog.
Leaving last loop of each dc on hook, work 1dc in each of next 2st, yo and
draw through all loops.

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

Finished Size Approx:   58″ length x 18 Inches (widest part)

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn
I have used:-
200 grams of Caron Cakes

OR
7oz of Worsted Weight Variegate #4 Yarn

5.50mm Clover crochet hook

GAUGE – 4dc & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch

ch7, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (4dc + ch3)

Row 2 (Inc Row) – ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 2dc in top of ch3. Turn.

Rpt Row 2 until you have 57dc + ch3 in all or you have worked 53 rows and
work measures approx 29 Inches from beginning.

easy beginners scarf Row 54 (Dec Row) ch3, 1dc in each dc to last dc and ch3 to turn with, work
dc2tog (see abbrev) over dc and ch3. Turn.

Rpt Row 54 until you have 4dc + ch3 in all.

Next Row – ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
