Crochet Filet Bobble Scarf

Crochet filet bobble scarf, I have combined some lovely stitches for this scarf, the open filet and bobble effect on this scarf when crocheted on a 5.50mm hook creates a light and soft feel. Made using chain spaces, dc, trc and sc.

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

4ch counts as first tr and 1ch

Approx finished size:  5.5 Inches wide x 56 Inches long (excluding tassels)

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn I have used:-
115grams of Paintbox Simply DK

OR an equivalent yarn would be:-
4.05oz of Worsted Weight #3 in color 1

5.50mm Clover Crochet Hook

TENSION – 2.5 pattern repeats & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch

Make 24ch, (RS) work 1tr into 6th ch from hook, * make 1ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into next ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (11tr + 10, 1ch spaces)

2nd Row – 1ch, 1dtr into base of 1ch, * 1dc into 1ch space, 1dtr into next tr, * rpt from * to * pushing bobbles onto RS as you go to last 5ch, 1dc into 5ch space, (1dtr, ss) into 4th of 5ch. Turn. (11dtr + 10dc)

3rd Row – ss into first dtr, make 4ch, * miss 1dc, work 1tr into next dtr, make 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last dc and dtr, miss dc, work 1tr into dtr. Turn.

4th Row – 1ch, 1dtr into base of 1ch, * 1dc into 1ch space, 1dtr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 4ch, 1dc into 4ch space, (1dtr, ss) into 3rd of 4ch. Turn.

5th Row – ss into first dtr, make 4ch, * miss 1dc, work 1tr into next dtr, make 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last dc and dtr, miss dc, work 1tr into dtr. Turn.

Rpt 4th & 5th Rows 68 more times until 70 bobble rows have been worked from beginning or work measures approx 55.5 Inches in all. Turn.

Border – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each 1ch space and tr to end, 3dc into 3rd of 4ch, work 208dc evenly into row ends down first side of scarf, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting ch edge, 3dc into corner, work 208dc evenly into row ends up second side of scarf, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc. Fasten off.

Weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim.

Tassels x 24 – For each tassel cut 4 strands of yarn approx 4 to 5 inches long, (or your required length)

Finishing – On each end of the scarf attach the tassels by folding each tassel in half and threading open ends through every alternative dc, pull ends through loop you have created and tighten to secure.
