I made this crochet granny shawl uk format pattern when I was a young teen, every female member of my family had one like it or not lol, most were very excited at receiving their home made gift. The design has moved on over the years though and is popping up a lot now.

Abbreviations
ch. Chain
tr Treble Crochet
rpt. Repeat
4ch counts as first tr and 1ch
Approx finished size: 46 inches wide x 24 inches long
Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn I have used:-
125 grams of Paintbox Simply DK in colour 1
100 grams of Paintbox Simply DK in colour 2
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
With colour 1 make magic circle, work 4ch, (3tr, 2ch, 3tr) 1ch, 1tr into circle, pull loose thread to close circle. Turn.
Row 2 – 4ch, 3tr, 1ch into first 4ch space, (3tr, 2ch, 3tr) into next 2ch space, 1ch, 3tr, 1ch into next 4ch space, 1tr into 3rd of 4ch. Turn.
Row 3 – 4ch, 3tr, 1ch into first 4ch space, 3tr, 1ch into next 1ch space, (3tr, 2ch, 3tr) into next 2ch space, 1ch, 3tr, 1ch into next 1ch space, 3tr, 1ch into next 4ch space, 1tr into 3rd of 4ch. Turn.
Row 4 – 4ch, 3tr, 1ch into first 4ch space, (3tr, 1ch) into each 1ch space, (3tr, 2ch, 3tr) into next 2ch space, 1ch, (3tr, 1ch) into each 1ch space to end, 3tr, 1ch into next 4ch space, 1tr into 3rd of 4ch. Turn.
Rpt Row 4 in colour sequence as follows:-
Six more times in colour 1
Twice in colour 2
Once in colour 1
Twelve more times in colour 2
Once in colour 1
Twice in colour 2
Ten more times in colour 1
Fasten off.
Make 3 small pom-poms in colour 2
I used the Clover Pom-Pom maker no. 20.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn, leaving a small strand of yarn on each one, attach 1 pom-pom to each of the corners.
