Abbreviations

Work 5tr in next tr, drop loop from hook, insert hook from front to back in the first tr of the 5tr of group, pick up and pull dropped loop through stitch.
Base of ch. Work into first stitch
3ch counts as first tr
Size to fit approx: 3-6 month baby
Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn
I have used:-
25 grams of King Cole Big Value Baby DK in Colour 1
Small amount of Stylecraft Special DK in Colour 2
TENSION – 4tr and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Worked in rounds without turning until the end of Row 6
With colour 1, make 6ch, join with a ss to form a ring, (RS) 3ch, work 13tr into ring, join with ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (13tr + 3ch)
Row 2 – (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 2tr into each of next 13tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (27tr + 3ch)
Row 3 – (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (41tr + 3ch)
Row 4 – (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr in each of next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (55tr + 3ch)
Row 5 – (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (69tr + 3ch)
Row 6 – 3ch, 1tr into each of next 66tr, turn leaving 3tr un-worked.
Row 7 – 3ch, * 1tr into next 5tr, 1ch, miss 1tr, * rpt from * to * to last 5tr and 3tch, 1tr in each of last 5tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Fasten off. Turn. (11, 5tr blocks, 1tr + 3tch)
Pattern Row 1 – Join in colour 2, make 3ch, * 1tr into next 2tr, pc (see abbrev) into next tr, 1tr in next 2tr, 1ch, miss 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to last 5tr and 3tch, 1tr in next 2tr, pc into next tr, 1tr into next 2tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Fasten off. Turn. (11pc)
Pattern Row 2 – Join in colour 1, 3ch, * 1tr into next 5st, 1ch, miss 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to last 5st and 3tch, 1tr into each of last 5st, 1tr into top of ch3. Turn. (11, 5tr blocks, 1tr + 3ch)
Pattern Row 3 – 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 1ch, miss 1tr, 1tr into next tr, 1ch, miss 1tr, 1tr into next tr, 1ch, miss 1ch space, 1tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 4tr and 3tch, (1ch, miss next tr, 1tr into next tr) twice, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (34tr, 32, 1ch spaces + 3tch)
Pattern Row 4 – 3ch, * 1tr into next 5st, 1ch, miss 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to last 5st and 3tch, 1tr into each of last 5st, 1tr into top of 3ch. Fasten off. Turn.
Rpt Pattern Rows 1 to 3. Turn.
Border – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each st to end, 3dc into top of 3tch, work 37dc evenly into row ends along neck edge, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc. Turn.
Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc along 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc along, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc. Turn.
Rpt last row once. Fasten off.
Chain Tie – With colour 2 make 150ch. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, thread chain tie through dc on neck edge.
