Crochet Stitch Tutorial-Basket Weave Stitch – A free written tutorial on how to crochet the basket weave stitch, this stitch is quite thick textured and warm.

The materials used for the swatches were James C Brett Marble Double Knitting yarn in colors BM 8 and BM 14 using a 5.00mm Clover crochet hook

Abbreviations – USA

ch.            Chain
dc.            Double Crochet
fpdc.         Front Post Double Crochet
bpdc.        Back Post Double Crochet

rpt.                  Repeat

Make a chain length in multiples of 6 + 5

1st Row – Work 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn.

2nd Row – ch3, fpdc around each of next 2dc, * bpdc around next 3dc, fpdc around next 3dc, * rpt from * to * to end, working last dc in top of ch3. Turn.

Repeat 2nd Row until you have reached the length you need.
