I used a 5.00mm hook and UK double knitting yarn for the sample, a worsted weight #3 would be an equivalent.

Make a chain length in multiples of 3 + 2.

1st Row – ch1, 1sc/dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc/dc in each ch to end. Turn. This row will give a solid foundation to work the stitch pattern on.

Pattern Row – 1ch, (1sc/dc, 1hdc/htr, 1dc/tr) in base of 1ch, * skip 2st, (1sc/dc, 1hdc/htr, 1dc/tr) in next st, * rpt from * to * to last 3st, skip 2st, 1sc/dc in last st. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row to desired length.

Hope you enjoy this stitch, I have used it for many items, such as blankets, throws, facecloths, dishcloths, bedspreads and so on.
