Crochet Two Cluster Dishcloth

A crochet two cluster dishcloth, you can never have to many of these, ideal for doing the dishes or wiping down the work surfaces.

Make in a plain color or multi shades, I have crocheted in soft 100% cottonsoft Yarn.

If you are just learning to crochet it is a good pattern to practice with.

Abbreviations
ch.
     Chain

sc.      Single Crochet
dc.     Double Crochet
rpt.    Repeat
sl st.  Slip Stitch
yo.     Yarn Over

dc2tog.  Leaving last loop of each dc on hook, work 2dc in same space or stitch, yo and draw through all loops. See pictorial here

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

Finished size approx:  11 Inches x 11 Inches

Materials
40 grams King Cole Cottonsoft DK in Color 1
30 grams King Cole Cottonsoft DK in Color 2

OR an equivalent yarn would be:-
1.45oz of Worsted Weight #3 Cotton Yarn in Color 1
1.05oz of Worsted Weight #3 Cotton Yarn in Color 2

4.50mm & 5.50mm Clover crochet hooks

With color 1 and 5.50mm hook ch29 loosely.

Change to 4.50mm hook, work 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (28sc)

Row 2 – ch1, 1dc in base of ch1, dc2tog (see abbrev) in each of next 26sc, 1dc in last sc. Fasten off. Turn. (26, dc2tog + 2dc)

Join in color 2

Row 3 – ch1, 1dc in base of ch1, work dc2tog in each of next 26, dc2tog, 1dc in dc. Turn.

Row 4 – Rpt Row 3 once. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in color 1.

Row 5 – Rpt Row 3 once. Fasten off. Turn.

Rpt Row 3 in color sequence as follows:-

# Twice in color 2
Once in color 1 #

Rpt from # to # until you have 17 rows worked in all or your work measures approx 9.5 inches from beginning. Turn.

Row 18 – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to the end. Turn. Fasten off.

Join in color 2

Border – With 5.50mm hook ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc across top of cloth, 3sc in corner, 26sc evenly in row ends down first side of cloth, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch along starting ch edge, 3sc in corner, 26sc evenly in row ends up second side of cloth, 1sc in the corner, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work two more rows of 1sc in each sc around cloth to end, working 3sc in corners and sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Join color 1 and rpt last row once. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in trim off any loose ends of yarn.
