Base of ch. Work in first stitch

Finished Size Approx:     34.5 x 39.5 Inches

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn
I have used approximately:-

300 grams of King Cole Baby Glitz DK Yarn in color 1
80 grams of King Cole Baby Glitz DK Yarn in color 2

150 grams of King Cole Baby Glitz DK Yarn in color 3

4.50mm & 4.00mm Clover Crochet Hooks

GAUGE
4dc & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch using 4.50mm hook

With color 1 and 4.50mm hook, ch124 loosely, 2dc in 4th ch from hook, * skip 1ch, 2dc in next ch, * rpt from * to * to last ch2, skip 1ch, 1dc in last ch. Turn. (60, 2dc groups)

Pattern Row – ch3, skip 1dc, 2dc in space between next 2dc, * skip 2dc, 2dc in space between next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc and 3tch, skip 1dc, work 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row until 5 rows have been worked in all. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in color 2 and rpt Pattern Row once. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in color 1 and rpt Pattern Row five times. Fasten off.

Rpt Pattern Row in color sequence as follows:-

# Four times in color 3.
Twice in color 2.
Four times in color 3.

Five times in color 1.
Once in color 2.
Five times in color 1. #

Rpt from # to # until 95 Pattern Rows have been worked in all from beginning. Turn.

Border – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to 3tch, 3sc in top of ch3, 2sc in each row end down first side of blanket, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch along starting chain edge, 3sc in corner, 2sc in each row end up second side of blanket, 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc. Turn.

Working 3sc in the corners, start with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1 and work 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Fasten off. Turn.

Rpt last row once in color 2 and twice in color 1. Turn.

Pretty Edge – ch1, * (1sc, 2dc, 1sc) in base of ch1, skip 2sc, * rpt from * to * around all sides of blanket to end. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.

Butterfly – Made in continuous rounds without turning.

With color 1 make a magic circle, using 4.00mm hook (RS) ch1, 8sc in circle, close circle pulling loose thread, sl st to first sc on beginning of row.

Round 2 – ch3, 2dc in base of ch3, ch2, work 3dc, ch2 in each sc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of the row. Fasten off. (8, ch2 spaces)

Round 3 – Join in color 2 with a sl st to first ch2 space, (ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc) in same ch2 space, work (3dc, ch2, 3dc) in each ch2 space to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Round 4 – Join in color 3 with a sl st to any space between shell groups, work * 8trc in next ch2 space, sl st in space between next 2 shell groups, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to sl st on beginning of row. Do Not Fasten off.

Body Chain – ch20, fold butterfly in half and wrap 20 chain length around the middle of wings, sl st to first ch. Fasten off.

Antenna – ch10. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim of loose ends of yarn, slide the ch10 (antenna) under body chain, trim leaving a small tail on each end.
