tr5tog.   Leaving last loop of each tr on hook, work 5tr into next tr, yrh pull through 6 loops.

3ch counts as first tr
4ch counts as first tr and 1ch

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn

I have used approximately:-
200 grams of Paintbox Simply DK colour 1
100 grams of Paintbox Simply DK colour 2

6.00mm Clover Crochet Hooks

TENSION – 4tr & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch

With Colour 1 make a magic circle, (RS) work (3ch, 1tr, 2ch, 2tr) into circle, pull loose thread to close. Turn. (3tr + 3ch)

2nd Row – 4ch, 1tr into base of 4ch, make 1ch, miss 1tr, (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) into 2ch space, make 1ch, miss 1tr, (1tr, 1ch, 1tr) into top of 3ch. Turn. (7tr + 3ch)

3rd Row – 3ch, 2tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each 1ch space and tr to 2ch space, (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) into 2ch space, 1tr into each tr and 1ch space to 4tch, 1tr into 4ch space, work 3tr into 3rd of 4ch. Turn. (19tr + 3ch)

4th Row – 4ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, make 1ch, miss 1tr, * 1tr into next tr, make 1ch, miss 1tr, * rpt from * to * to 2ch space, (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) into 2ch space, make 1ch, miss 1tr, rpt from * to * to 3tch, (1tr, 1ch, 1tr) into top of 3ch. Turn. (15tr + 3ch)

5th Row – 3ch, 2tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each 1ch space and tr to 2ch space, (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) into 2ch space, 1tr into each tr and 1ch space to 4tch, 1tr into 4ch space, work 3tr into 3rd of 4ch. Turn. (35tr +3ch)

6th Row – (WS) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * tr5tog (see abbrev) into next tr, 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to tr and 2ch space, 1dc into tr (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into 2ch space, 1dc into each of next 2tr, rpt from * to * to last tr and 3tch, work tr5tog into tr, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn. (16, tr5tog)

7th Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr5tog and dc to 2ch space, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into 2ch space, 1dc into each dc and tr5tog to end. Turn. (40dc)

Row counts will increase as you go on.

8th Row – 4ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, make 1ch, miss 1dc, * 1tr into next dc, make 1ch, miss 1dc, * rpt from * to * to 2ch space, (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) into 2ch space, make 1ch, miss 1dc, rpt from * to * to last dc, (1tr, 1ch, 1tr) into dc. Turn.

9th Row – Rpt 5th Row.

Fasten off. Join in colour 2.

# 10th & 11th Rows – Rpt 4th & 5th Rows

12th & 13th Rows – Rpt 4th & 5th Rows.

Fasten off. Join in colour 1.

14th & 15th Rows – Rpt 4th & 5th Rows.

16th & 17th Rows – Rpt 4th & 5th Rows.

18th Row – Rpt 6th Row.

19th Row – Rpt 7th Row.

20th Row – Rpt 8th Row.

21st Row – Rpt 5th Row.

Fasten off. Join in colour 2. #

Rpt from # to # once.

34th & 35th Rows – Rpt 4th & 5th Rows.

36th & 37th Rows – Rpt 4th & 5th Rows.

Fasten off. Join colour 1.

38th & 39th Rows – Rpt 4th & 5th Rows.

40th Row – Rpt 4th Row.

41st Row – 3ch, 1tr into each 1ch space and tr to 2ch space, (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) into 2ch space, 1tr into each tr and 1ch space to 3tch, 1tr into top of 3ch.

Fasten off.

Working along top of shawl (the long side opposite the v shape) – Using colour 1 work one row dc evenly to end. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn.
