Picot.   (ch3, 1sc in 3rd ch from hook)

ch3 counts as first dc

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

Approx Finished Size:   23 x 26 Inches

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn

I have used approximately:-
200 grams of Paintbox Simply DK in color 1
Small amount of Paintbox Simply DK in color 2

4.00mm Clover Crochet Hook

GAUGE – 4dc & 3 rows measures approx 1 inch

With color 1 ch83 loosely, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, * skip 1ch, 2dc in next ch * rpt from * to * last 3ch, skip 1ch, 1dc in each of last 2ch. Turn. (38, 2dc groups plus 3 single dc and ch3)

2nd Row – ch3, 1dc in the first dc, skip 1dc * work 2dc in the space between next 2dc, skip 2dc * rpt from * to * to last dc and 3tch, 1dc in single dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.

Rpt 2nd Row until 60 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Turn.

Border – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to last 3tch, 3sc in top of ch3, work 90sc evenly in row ends down first side of blanket, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch along starting chain edge, 3sc in corner, work 90sc evenly in row ends up second side of blanket, sc in corner, sl st to first sc on the beginning of the row. Turn.

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work one more row of 1sc in each sc around all four sides of blanket working 3sc in the corners, work 1sc in base of ch1 on last corner, sl st to first sc on beginning of the row. Turn.

Third Row – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, work 1dc in each sc around all sides of blanket to end, working 3dc in the corners, work 1dc in base of ch3 on last corner, sl st to top of ch3 on the beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work two more rows of 1sc in each st around all four sides of blanket working 3sc in corners, work 1sc in base of ch1 on last corner, sl st to first sc on the beginning of the row. Turn.

Fasten off. Join in color 2

Picot Edge – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * (1sc, picot, 1sc) in next sc, skip next sc, * rpt from * to * around four sides of blanket, sl st to first sc on the beginning of the row. (see abbrev for picot)

Fasten off.

Finishing
Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, thread contrast color ribbon through the dc’s on the border and tie in a bow.

Attach a pearl button to centre of bow. (optional)
