Free Crochet Stitch Tutorial Chirpy Picots

Abbreviations USA
ch.
     Chain

dc.     Double Crochet
sl st.  Slip Stitch
Rpt.   Repeat
tch.    Turning Chain

Picot.    (ch3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook)

Make a chain length in multiples of 7 + 2

First Row – (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in 6th ch from hook, * work picot, (see abbrev) skip 6ch, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 3ch, skip 2ch, 1dc in last ch. Turn.

Second Row – ch3, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch2 space, * work picot, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch2 space, * rpt from * to * to last ch2 space and 5tch, work picot, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in ch2 space, 1dc in top of 5ch. Turn.

Third Row – ch3, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch2 space, * work picot, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch2 space, * rpt from * to * to last ch2 space and 3tch, work picot, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in ch2 space, 1dc in top of 3ch. Turn.

Repeat the Third Row until you have the length you need for your project. To make it a bit more interesting you can change color on alternate rows.
