Pointed Doily Free Crochet Pattern

Pattern Number CNC150

Abbreviations
RS.      Right Side

ch.      Chain
sc.       Single Crochet
hdc.    Half Double Crochet
dc.       Double Crochet
rpt.      Repeat
sl st.    Slip Stitch
yo.       Yarn Over

dc2tog.  Leaving last loop of each dc on hook, work 2dc in same space or stitch, yo and draw through all loops.

dc3tog.  Leaving last loop of each dc on hook, work 3dc in same space or stitch, yo and draw through all loops.

vst.       (1dc, ch2, 1dc) in same space or stitch.

Shell.    (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in same space or stitch.

Group.  (3dc, ch2, 3dc) in same space or stitch.

Picot.    (ch3, 1sc in 3rd ch from hook)

ch3 counts as first dc

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

Approx Finished Size:     10 inch diameter

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn

I have used approximately:-
20 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft in color 1
15 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft in each of colors 2 and 3

4.50mm Clover Crochet Hook

Made in rounds without turning until the 8th Row.

Using color 1 make a magic circle, (RS) ch3, dc2tog, ch3 in circle, dc3tog, ch3, (five times) in circle, sl st to first dc on beginning of row. (6, dc3tog)

Fasten off. Join in color 2 to any ch3 space.

2nd Row – ch3, 3dc in same space, ch2, work * 4dc in next ch3 space, ch2, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (6, 4dc groups)

Fasten off. Join in color 1 to top of ch3.

3rd Row – ch3, 1dc in each of next 3dc, 3dc in ch2 space, * 1dc in each of next 4dc, 3dc in ch2 space, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (41dc + ch3)

Fasten off. Join in color 3 to top of ch3.

4th Row – ch3, dc2tog in base of ch3, ch2, * skip 1dc, dc3tog in next dc, ch2, * rpt from * to * to last dc, skip dc, sl st to dc2tog on beginning of row. (21, dc3tog)

Fasten off. Join in color 1 to any ch2 space.

5th Row – ch5, 1dc in same space, * skip dc3tog, vst (see abbrev) in next ch2 space, * rpt from * to * to end, skip dc3tog, sl st to 3rd of ch5. (21, vst)

Fasten off. Join in color 2 to any ch2 space.

6th Row – ch3, (1dc, ch2 2dc) in same space, work 1 shell (see the abbrev) in each ch2 space to end. (21, shells)

Fasten off. Join in color 1 to any ch2 space.

7th Row – Rpt 6th Row.

Fasten off. Join in color 3 to any ch2 space.

8th Row – ch3, (2dc, ch2, 3dc) in same space, work (3dc, ch2, 3dc) in each ch2 space to end. Turn. (21, Groups)

Fasten off. Working over the 8th Row, join in color 1 with a sl st to any space between shells on 7th Row.

9th Row – ch1, 1hdc in same space, 1sc in each of next 3dc, (1sc, picot, 1sc) in ch2 space, 1sc in each of next 3dc, * working over the 8th Row, work 1hdc between shells on 7th Row, 1sc in each of next 3dc, (1sc, picot, 1sc) in ch2 space, 1sc in each of next 3dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first hdc on beginning of row. (see abbrev for picot stitch)

Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in trim off all loose ends of yarn.
