Abbreviations
ch.
         Chain

dc.         Double Crochet
tr.          Treble Crochet
rpt.        Repeat
ss.         Slip Stitch
tch.       Turning Chain
DNT.     Do not turn

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

3ch counts as first tr

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn

I have used:-
Small amounts of King Cole Comfort Aran

6.00mm Clover Crochet Hook, Medium sized button

TENSION – 3tr & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch

*******************************************************************

Make 20ch, ss to first ch to form a ring, ss into each ch to end. (20ss) DNT.

2nd Row – 3ch, working over the slip stitches, work 39tr into the ring, ss to top of 3tch on beginning of row. Turn. (39tr + 3ch)

3rd Row – 3ch, 1tr into each of next 9tr. Turn. (9tr + 3ch)

4th Row – 3ch, 1tr into each of next 8tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

Rpt 4th Row until eleven tr rows have been worked in all from the beginning. Turn.

Border – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to 3tch, 3dc into top of 3ch, work 19dc evenly into row ends down first side of holder, 1dc into each of 31tr around the ring, 19dc evenly into row ends up second side of holder, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. DNT.

Work one row of crab stitch (see abbrev) around towel holder, ss to first dc.

Finishing – Weave in and trim of loose ends of yarn.

Abbreviations
RS.     Right Side

ch.     Chain
dc.     Double Crochet
htr.   Half Treble Crochet
tr.      Treble Crochet
rpt.    Repeat
ss.      Slip Stitch
yrh.   Yarn Round Hook

tr2tog.  Leaving last loop of each tr on hook, work 2tr into same space or stitch, yrh and draw through all loops.

tr3tog.  Leaving last loop of each tr on hook, work 3tr into same space or stitch, yrh and draw through all loops.

vst.       (1tr, 2ch, 1tr) into same space or stitch.

Shell.    (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) into same space or stitch.

Group.  (3tr, 2ch, 3tr) into same space or stitch.

Picot.    (3ch, 1dc into 3rd ch from hook)

3ch counts as first tr

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

Approx Finished Size:     10 inch diameter

Materials

I have used approximately:-
20 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft in color 1
15 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft in each of colors 2 and 3

Made in rounds without turning until the 8th Row.

Using color 1 make a magic circle, (RS) work ch3, tr2tog, 3ch into circle, tr3tog, 3ch, (five times) into circle, ss to first tr on beginning of row. (6, tr3tog)

Fasten off. Join in colour 2 to any 3ch space.

2nd Row – 3ch, 3tr into same space, make 2ch, work * 4tr into next 3ch space, make 2ch, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (6, 4tr groups)

Fasten off. Join in colour 1 to top of 3ch.

3rd Row – 3ch, 1tr into each of next 3tr, 3tr into 2ch space, * 1tr into each of next 4tr, 3tr into 2ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (41tr + 3ch)

Fasten off. Join in colour 3 to top of 3ch.

4th Row – 3ch, tr2tog into base of 3ch, make 2ch, * miss 1tr, tr3tog into next tr, 2ch, * rpt from * to * to last tr, miss tr, ss to tr2tog on beginning of row. (21, tr3tog)

Fasten off. Join in colour 1 to any 2ch space.

5th Row – 5ch, 1tr into same space, * miss tr3tog, vst (see abbrev) into next 2ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, miss tr3tog, ss to 3rd of 5ch. (21, vst)

Fasten off. Join in colour 2 to any 2ch space.

6th Row – 3ch, (1tr, 2ch 2tr) into the same space, work 1 shell (see the abbrev) into each 2ch space to end. (21, shells)

Fasten off. Join in colour 1 to any 2ch space.

7th Row – Rpt 6th Row.

Fasten off. Join in colour 3 to any 2ch space.

8th Row – 3ch, (2tr, 2ch, 3tr) into same space, work (3tr, 2ch, 3tr) into each 2ch space to end. Turn. (21, Groups)

Fasten off. Working over the 8th Row, join in colour 1 with a ss to any space between shells on 7th Row.

9th Row – 1ch, 1htr into same space, 1dc into each of next 3tr, (1dc, picot, 1dc) into 2ch space, 1dc into each of next 3tr, * working over the 8th Row, work 1htr between shells on 7th Row, 1dc into each of next 3tr, (1dc, picot, 1dc) into 2ch space, 1dc into each of next 3tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first htr on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in trim off all loose ends of yarn.
