Crochet Cluster Block Stitch

Crochet cluster block stitch, todays tutorial is an easy design that works great for blankets and more.

There are a few tutorials on line on how to do the block stitch, but for this one I have used clusters, scroll down the page for the free instructions.

Crochet Cluster Block Stitch Tutorial UK

Skill Level: Intermediate

Abbreviations UK
RS.        Right Side

ch.        Chain
dc.        Double Crochet
tr.         Treble Crochet
rpt.       Repeat
yrh.       Yarn Round Hook
tch.       Turning Chain

tr3tog.  Treble Three Together
Leaving last loop of each tr on hook, work 3tr into next stitch, yrh, pull through all loops.

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Made in multiples of 2 + 3.

Using colour 1, I have made 33ch for the sample, (RS) work 1tr into 4th ch from hook 1tr into each ch to end. Turn.

2nd Row – Join in colour 2, work 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, * make 1ch, miss 1tr, 1dc into next tr, * rpt * to * to last tr and 3tch, make 1ch, miss 1tr, work 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn.

3rd Row – with colour 1 make 3ch, work tr3tog into next 1ch space, * make 1ch, tr3tog into next 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to last dc, work 1tr into dc. Turn.

4th Row – Join in colour 3, work 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, * make 1ch, miss tr3tog, 1dc into next 1ch space, * rpt * to * to last tr3tog and 3tch, make 1ch, miss tr3tog, work 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn.

Rpt 3rd & 4th Rows until required length, alternating colours as set.

Rpt 3rd & 4th Rows until required length, alternating colours as set.
