Shell edge lace doily, free crochet pattern for pretty 8.5 inch diameter doily, it will add cheer to any room in your home.
I have made it in one solid color, but I’m sure it would look lovely in more shades, have a play with combinations of colours!

A 4.50mm crochet hook has been used for the doily, I have used bernat light worsted DK #3 yarn in two colors, for the crochet shell edge lace doily samples.

Leaving last loop of each tr on hook, work 2tr into next stitch, yrh, pull through all loops.
Group. Work 5tr into same stitch or space

30 grams of Bernat Softee DK yarn

Make a magic circle, (RS) Work 1ch, 16dc into circle, ss to first dc on beginning of round. (16dc)
2nd Round – 3ch, 1tr into next dc, * 2ch, work 1tr into each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, make 2ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. (8, 2tr groups)
3rd Round – ss to first 2ch space, make 2ch, work 1htr into same space * make 7ch, miss 2tr, tr2tog into next 2ch space, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr, make 7ch, miss 2tr, ss to first htr on beginning of round. (8, tr2tog)
4th Round – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, * work 7dc into 7ch space, 1dc into tr2tog, * rpt * to * to last 7ch, work 7dc into 7ch space, ss to first dc on beginning of round. (64dc)
