Pretty edged circular crochet mat-coaster set, I have used warm — Winter colors, but they would look just as nice in bright sunny colors, you can crochet the large one on its own to use as a doily or make them all as a complete set.

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn I have used:-
20 grams of Paintbox Simple DK in each of the colors 1, 2 & 3
OR an equivalent yarn would be:-
0.75oz of Worsted Weight #3 in each of the colors 1, 2 & 3

Made in rounds without turning throughout.
Large Mat – # Using color 1 make magic circle, ch3, (RS) 12dc in circle, pull loose thread to close, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Fasten off. (12dc + ch3)
Round 2 – Join in color 2, ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 2dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. Fasten off. (25dc + ch3)
Round 3 – Join in color 3, ch4, 1dc in base of ch4, * skip 1dc, vst (see abbrev) in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, skip 1dc, sl st to 3rd of ch4 on beginning of round. Fasten off. (13 vst) #
Round 4 – Join color 1 to first ch1 space, ch3, (1dc, ch2, 2dc) in same ch1 space, work 1shell (see abbrev) in each ch1 space to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. Fasten off. (13 shells)
Round 5 – Join color 2 to first ch2 space, ch3, (1dc, ch2, 2dc) in same ch2 space, work 1shell in each ch2 space to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. Fasten off.
Round 6 – Join color 3 to first ch2 space, ch4, 1dc in base of ch4, * work vst in space between next 2 shells, vst in ch2 space of shell * rpt from * to * to end, vst in space between last 2 shells, sl st to 3rd of ch4 on beginning of round. Fasten off. (26 vst)
Round 7 – Join color 1 to first ch1 space, rpt Round 4. Fasten off. (26 shells)
Round 8 – Join color 2 to first ch2 space, rpt Round 5. Fasten off.
Round 9 – Join color 3 to first ch2 space, ch4, 1dc in base of ch4, * work vst in space between next 2 shells, vst in ch2 space of each of next 2 shells, * rpt from * to * to last shell, vst in space before last shell, vst in ch2 space of the last shell, sl st to the 3rd of ch4 on the beginning of round. Fasten off. (39 vst)
Round 10 – Join color 1 to first ch1 space, ch3, (1dc, ch3, 2dc) in same ch1 space, work (2dc, ch3, 2dc) in each ch1 space to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. Fasten off. (39 shells)
Coaster – Rpt from # to # on large mat.
Next Round – Rpt Round 10 from large mat. Fasten off. (13 shells)
Finishing – Weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim off.
