Base of ch. Work in first stitch
Approx Finished Size: Adult Head 11 inches length x 8.5 Inches wide
Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
100 grams of Stylecraft Special Aran yarn
5.50mm crochet hook, faux fur pom-pom.

UK INSTRUCTIONS:
Make 41ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn (40dc)
2nd Row – Working through BLO for this rows, make 1ch, work 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.
Rpt 2nd Row until you have worked 80 rows in all or your work measures approx 17.5 inches, you can add more rows here if you wish to make the hat wider.
Fold work in half widthways and slip stitch the last row you just worked and the starting chain edge together to make a round. Do not Fasten off.
Turn you work onto the side so you are working in row ends.
Shape Top
First Row – Working into row ends, make 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, * miss 1, 1dc into next, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (40dc)
Second Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
Third Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, * miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off leaving a long length of yarn to gather the top.
Finishing – Weave loose length of yarn through the row of dc’s evenly to end and pull to gather tightly, secure the yarn so it does not break free. Turn up brim, attach faux fur pom-pom to crown.
