Materials
I have used:-
50 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in colour 1
25 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in colour 2
4.50mm crochet hook
TENSION – 4tr & 3 rows measures approx 1 inch
Made in rounds without turning until the end of Round 1 of brim.
With colour 1 make magic circle, work 2ch, 14tr into ring, pull loose thread to close circle, ss to first tr on beginning of round. (14tr)
2nd Round – (Inc Row) 2ch, 2tr into base of 3ch, 2tr into each tr to end, ss to first tr on beginning of round. Fasten off. (28tr)
Join in colour 2.
3rd Round – (Inc Row) 1ch, 2htr into base of 1ch, * 1htr into next tr, 2htr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last tr, 1htr into last tr, ss to first htr on beginning of round. Fasten off. (42htr)
Join in colour 1.
4th Round – (Inc Row) 2ch, 2tr into base of 2ch, 1tr into each of next 2htr, * 2tr into next htr, 1tr into each of next 2htr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss first tr on beginning
of round. (56tr)
5th Round – (Inc Row) 2ch, 2tr into base of 2ch, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 3tr * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first tr on beginning
of round. Fasten off. (70tr)
Join in colour 2.
6th Round – 1ch, 1htr into base of 1ch, 1htr into each tr to end, ss to first htr on beginning of round. Fasten off. (70htr)

7th Round – 2ch, 1tr into base of 2ch, 1tr into each htr to end, ss to first tr on beginning of round.
8th Round – Working into tr (not htr) rpt 7th Round. Fasten off.
Join in colour 2.
9th Round – Rpt 6th Round. #
Rpt from # to # until 18 rounds have been worked from beginning. Fasten off.
Join in colour 1.
19th Round – Working into front loop of stitch only, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch,
1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row.
Brim – make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * (1htr, 1tr, 3dtr, 1tr, 1htr) into next dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, (1htr, 1tr, 3dtr, 1tr, 1htr) into dc, ss to first
dc on the beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn. (35 groups)
Your work will appear frilled, but will fold into place after Round 2.
Round 2 – Join in colour 2 with a ss to any dc, * work 1dc into each of next 3st, (2dc, 2ch, 2dc) into next st, 1dc into each of next 3st, ss into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last group, work 1dc into each of next 3st, (2dc, 2ch, 2dc) into next st, 1dc into each of next 3st, ss to first ss on beginning of row. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off loose ends of yarn, fold groups on brim over each other.
