Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn

I have used approximately:-
300 grams of King Cole Baby Glitz DK Yarn in colour 1
80 grams of King Cole Baby Glitz DK Yarn in colour 2
150 grams of King Cole Baby Glitz DK Yarn in colour 3

4.50mm & 4.00mm Clover Crochet Hooks

TENSION – 4tr & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch using 4.50mm hook

With colour 1 and 4.50mm hook, make 124ch loosely, 2tr into 4th ch from hook, * miss 1ch, 2tr into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into last ch. Turn. (60, 2tr groups)

Pattern Row – 3ch, miss 1tr, 2tr into space between next 2tr, * miss 2tr, 2tr into space between next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to last tr and 3tch, miss 1tr, work 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row until 5 rows have been worked in all. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in colour 2 and rpt Pattern Row once. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in colour 1 and rpt Pattern Row five times. Fasten off.

Rpt Pattern Row in colour sequence as follows:-

# Four times in colour 3.
Twice in colour 2.
Four times in colour 3.

Five times in colour 1.
Once in colour 2.
Five times in colour 1. #

Rpt from # to # until 95 Pattern Rows have been worked in all from beginning. Turn.

Border – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to 3tch, 3dc into top of 3ch, 2dc into each row end down first side of blanket, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting chain edge, 3dc into corner, 2dc into each row end up second side of blanket, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc. Turn.

Working 3dc into the corners, start with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch and work 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Fasten off. Turn.

Rpt last row once in colour 2 and twice in colour 1. Turn.

Pretty Edge – 1ch, * (1dc, 2tr, 1dc) into base of 1ch, miss 2dc, * rpt from * to * around all sides of blanket to end. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.

Butterfly – Made in continuous rounds without turning.

With colour 1 make a magic circle, using 4.00mm hook (RS) work 1ch, 8dc into circle, close circle pulling loose thread, ss to first dc on beginning of row.

Round 2 – 3ch, 2tr into base of 3ch, make 2ch, work 3tr, 2ch into each dc to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. (8, 2ch spaces)

Round 3 – Join in colour 2 with a ss to first 2ch space, work (3ch, 2tr, 2ch, 3tr) into the same 2ch space, work (3tr, 2ch, 3tr) into each 2ch space to end, ss to top of the 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Round 4 – Join in colour 3 with a ss to any space between shell groups, work * 8dtr into next 2ch space, ss into space between next 2 shell groups, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to ss on beginning of row. Do Not Fasten off.

Body – Make 20ch, fold butterfly in half and wrap 20 chain length around the middle of wings, ss to first ch. Fasten off.

Antenna – Make 10ch. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim of loose ends of yarn, slide the 10ch (antenna) under body chain, trim leaving a small tail on each end.
