Two easy formats have been used to write this free crochet textured beanie hat pattern for UK crocheters and USA crafters.
Best Yarn
For great results from this free crochet textured beanie hat pattern it is always best to use the recommended yarn in the pattern materials section.
I have used King Cole Comfort Aran in white and candy pink for the samples of the beanie hats, but the choice is yours.
Crochet Hook Size
Pattern asks for a 6.00mm crochet hook, but you can change hook sizes higher or lower to make looser or tighter tension/gauge.

110 gram of King Cole Aran yarn
6.00mm crochet hook, medium size faux fur pom-pom

UK INSTRUCTIONS:
Made in one piece working sideways and then slip stitch seamed.
Make 42ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each of next 9ch, * 1tr into next ch, ss into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 3ch, work 1tr into next ch, ss into each of next 2ch. Turn.
2nd Row – 1ch, ss into the ss at the base of the 1ch, ss into next ss, work * ss into next tr, 1tr into next ss, * rpt from * to * to last tr and 10dc, work 1ss into tr, then working into BLO work 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.
3rd Row – Working though BLO work 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of 1ch, 1dc into each of the next 9dc, * 1tr into next ss, ss into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 3ss, work 1tr into next ss, 1ss into each of last 2ss. Turn.
Rpt 2nd and 3rd rows until work measures approx 17.5 inches or 70 rows have been worked from beginning. Turn.
Finishing – Starting with brim ss last row worked and starting chain edge together then turn work though so slip stitched seam of brim is on the opposite site of work, continue slip stitching the starting chain edge and together to make a round. Do not Fasten off.
Turn your work on to the side so you are working into the row ends.
Top – (decrease row) 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of 1ch, * miss 1 row end, work 1dc into next row end, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. (35dc)
Decrease Row – Starting with 1ch, miss 1dc, * work 1dc into next dc, miss 1dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc. Fasten off leaving length of yarn to gather top. (16dc)
Finishing – Weave loose yarn through last row and pull to gather the top, secure tightly and weave in any loose ends of yarn.
Turn beanie through to right side and fold up brim, decorate with faux fur pom-pom.
