The raised crochet stitch is now featured in many crochet projects, in this swatch I have done a simple combination of double crochet and treble crochet stitches.
The stitches are for both beginners and intermediate crocheters. The sample shows you an easy but effective way to use various colors for items such as scarves, blankets, hats etc.
Raised crochet Stitch

fptrc. Work trc around front of the trc on row below
bptrc. Work trc around back of the trc on row below
Make a chain length loosely in multiples of 6 + 1
Work 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn.
Next Row – ch3, 1dc in next dc, * bptrc (see stitches used) around next dc, 1dc in each of next 5dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc and ch3 to turn with, bptrc around next dc, 1dc in next dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.
Pattern Row 1 – ch3, 1dc in next dc, * fptrc (see stitches used) around next trc, 1dc in each of next 5dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2st and ch3 to turn with, fptrc around next trc, 1dc in next dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.
Pattern Row 2 – ch3, 1dc in next dc, * bptrc around next trc, 1dc in each of next 5dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2st and ch3 to turn with, bptrc around next trc, 1dc in next dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.
Rpt Pattern Rows 1 and 2 until you have reached your required length.
