Crochet bean stitch Baby blanket pattern, crocheted in the beautiful bean stitch, it’s a close design so no room for little fingers to get caught in. Made in a one row repeat so is a very easy project.
I have used light worsted #3 (double knitting for UK) yarn, stitch count is in the instructions if you want to make larger or smaller, hope you enjoy making it as much as I did.

140 grams of Stylecraft Special DK yarn in colour 1 – cream
130 grams of Stylecraft Special DK yarn in colour 2 – stone
165 grams of Stylecraft Special DK yarn in colour 3 – shrimp

UK INSTRUCTIONS:
Made in multiples of any even number.
With 5.00mm hook and colour 1, make 110ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn.
2nd Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, * miss 1dc, work Bs (see abbrev) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, miss 1dc, work 1dc into next dc. Turn.
3rd Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, work Bs into each Bs to last dc, 1dc into dc. Turn.
Repeat 3rd Row in colour sequence as follows:
# Two rows in colour 2, two rows in colour 3, two rows in colour 1 #
Rpt from # to # until work measures 30 inches from beginning. Turn.
Starting with 1ch, work 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each bean stitch and 1ch space to end. Fasten off. Turn.
Border – With 6.00mm hook and colour 3, make 3ch, 1tr into the stitch at the base of the 3ch, 1tr into each dc to end, 3tr into corner, 1tr into each row end down first side of blanket, 3tr into corner, 1tr into each ch along starting chain edge, 3tr into corner, 1tr into each row end up second side of blanket, 1tr into corner, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. DNT.
Second Row – 3ch, 1tr into the stitch at the base of the 3ch, * fptr around next tr, bptr around next tr, * rpt * to * around blanket working 3tr into the three corners, work 1tr into last corner, ss to top of 3ch on the beginning of row. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trip off any loose ends of yarn.
