Crochet Double Oven Glove – Double thick, with a glove each end, this kitchen pot holder will pick up most hot pans and dishes and help you protect not just one but both hands at the same time.

Great for working on while watch TV, as it is a one row repeat design.

Group. (1dc, 1tr) into same stitch or space

Crab Stitch.  Working from left to write work 1 row of dc backwards.

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

Approx Finished Size:  27 x 6.5 Inches

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

115 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in colour 1
115 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in colour 2

4.50mm Crochet Hook

TENSION – 2 groups & 4 rows measures approx 1 inch

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Back – # Make 26ch, Working into back bump of ch, (see pic) work (1dc, 1tr) into 2nd ch from hook, * miss 1ch, (1dc, 1tr) into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, miss 1ch, 1dc into last ch. Turn. (12 groups + 1dc)

front-back bump2nd Row – 1ch, (1dc, 1tr) into stitch at base of 1ch, * miss 1tr, (1dc, 1tr) into next dc, rpt from * to * to last dc and tr, miss 1tr, work 1dc into last dc. Turn.

Rpt 2nd Row until 100 rows have been worked in all changing colour every 4 rows. Fasten off. #

Front – Rpt from # to # on back. DNT.

Pocket 1
Working into FLO work 2nd Row once. Turn.

Working through both loops from now on rpt 2nd Row until 28 rows have been worked in all, changing colours ever 4 rows as before. Don’t fasten off or turn.

Work 1 row of crab stitch (see abbrev). Fasten off.

Pocket 2
Join yarn to starting chain edge and rpt pocket 1.

Assemble – Fold both pockets onto front of work.

With RS facing, color 2 and starting on a corner work a slip stitch loosely in each row end down first side of glove to next corner, catching in both of the pockets as you go. Fasten off.

Rpt for second side of glove.

With pockets away from you put the back and front pieces together.

With back facing you, colour 2, starting on a corner and working through both pieces at the same time.

Work 1dc into each row end on the back and both loops of each of the slip stitches on the front down the first side of the glove, work 3dc into corner, 1dc into each stitch along top of glove, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each row end on the back and both loops of each of the slip stitches on the front up second side of glove, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each stitch along bottom of glove, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc. Turn.

Work 1 row crab stitch around all sides of oven glove, ss to ss. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends.
