Crochet Striped Potholder Pattern – Protect your hands from the heat with my simple and easy double sided potholder.
It is made in the round, so there is no sewing involved.

I have crocheted it in a beginner friendly single crochet (dc for UK) stitch.
So whether you are baking cakes and pies or savouries this holder can be used for all hot pans.

Approx Finished Size: 8.5 x 8.5 inches
Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
30 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in colour 1
25 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in each of the colours 2 & 3
4.50mm crochet hook
TENSION – 5tr & 3.5 rows measures approx 1 inch

UK INSTRUCTIONS:
With colour 1 make 39ch, (RS) 1dc into 2nd ch from hook 1dc into each ch to end, do not turn, working along opposite side of starting chain edge, work 1dc into each ch to end, ss to first dc to make a round. DNT. (76dc)
Pattern Round – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of round. DNT.
Rpt Pattern Round twice. Fasten off. Turn.
Changing colour and turning after every four rounds rpt the Pattern Round until 36 rounds have been worked in all. Turn. Fasten off.
Work 3 rounds in colour 1, with RS facing ss across through both sides of potholder to end to close the open edge, make 15ch, ss to ss at base of 15ch. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
