Base of ch. Work into first stitch

Approx finished size:
Tea Towel: 17.5 x 12 Inches
Dishcloth:  9 x 8.5 Inches

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

150 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft in colour 1
30 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft in colour 2
20 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft in colour 3

4.50mm & 3.50mm Clover Crochet Hooks

TENSION – 6dc & 5 rows measures approx 1 inch

Tea Towel – With colour 1 and 4.50mm hook make 51ch, (WS) work 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, * miss 1ch, 2dc into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last ch, 1dc into last ch. Turn. (50dc)

Pattern Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1dc, 2dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 1dc into last dc. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row in colour sequence as follows:-

8 rows in colour 1
1 row in colour 2
3 rows in colour 1
1 row in colour 3
3 rows in colour 1
1 row in colour 2
16 rows in colour 1
11 rows in colour 3
16 rows in colour 1
1 row in colour 2
3 rows in colour 1
1 row in colour 3
3 rows in colour 1
1 row in colour 2
10 rows in colour 1. Turn

Edging – Continue with colour 1, using a 3.50mm hook make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc across, 3dc into corner, work 1dc into each row end down first side of towel, 3dc into corner, work 1dc into each ch along starting chain edge, 3dc corner, work 1dc into each row end up second side of towel, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work three more rows of 1dc into each dc around all four sides of towel working 3dc into each of the corners, ss to first dc on the beginning of each row. Fasten off.

Dishcloth – With colour 1 and 4.50mm hook make 33ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, * miss 1ch, 2dc into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last ch, 1dc into last ch. Turn. (32dc)

Work Pattern Row same as Tea Towel using colour sequence as follows:-

7 rows in colour 1
1 row in colour 3
3 rows in colour 1
1 row in colour 3
3 rows in colour 1
5 rows in colour 2
3 rows in colour 1

3 rows in colour 1

8 rows in colour 1. Turn

Finishing – Sew in and tie off loose ends of yarn on both tea towel & dishcloth.
