Crochet Round Fan Potholder – Free crochet pattern that is thick enough to be also used as a hot pad/trivet.

100 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft 100% DK Cotton

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Worked in rounds without turning throughout.

Make two pieces the same.

# Make magic circle, work 1ch, 12tr into circle, pull loose thread to close, ss to first tr on beginning of round. (12tr)

2nd Round – 3ch, 1tr into stitch at base of 3ch, 2tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. (23tr + 3ch)

3rd Round – 3ch, 2tr into stitch at base of 3ch, * make 1ch, miss 1tr, 3tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last tr, make 1ch, miss tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. (12, 3tr groups)

4th Round – 3ch, 2tr into next tr, 1tr into next tr, * make 1ch, miss 1ch, (1tr into next tr, 2tr into next tr, 1tr into next tr) * rpt from * to * last 1ch space, make 1ch, miss 1ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round.

5th Round – 3ch, 1tr into stitch at base of 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, 2tr into next tr, * make 1ch, miss 1ch, (2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr, 2tr into next tr) * rpt from * to * last 1ch space, make 1ch, miss 1ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round.

Edging Round – (Joining) Place both pieces of WS of potholder together and with RS of each piece facing work through both pieces at the same time, make 1ch, work 1dc into each tr and 1ch space to end, ss to first dc on beginning of round.

Shell Edge Round – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, * miss 1dc, 5tr into next dc, miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, miss 1dc, 5tr into next dc, miss 1dc, ss to first dc on beginning of round, make 20ch, ss to ss. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
