Crochet Two Cluster Dishcloth uk

A crochet two cluster dishcloth uk pattern, ideal for doing the dishes or wiping down the work surfaces, you can never have too many kitchen cloths.

Make in a plain colour or several shades, i have made it in a soft 100% cottonsoft Yarn.

It is a great pattern to practice with if you are just learning how to crochet.

Abbreviations
ch.     Chain
dc.     Double Crochet
tr.      Treble Crochet
rpt.    Repeat
ss.      Slip Stitch
yrh.   Yarn Round Hook

tr2tog.  Leaving last loop of each tr on hook, work 2tr into same space or stitch, yrh and draw through all loops. See pictorial here

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

Finished size approx:  11 Inches x 11 Inches

Materials
40 grams King Cole Cottonsoft DK in Colour 1
30 grams King Cole Cottonsoft DK in Colour 2

4.50mm & 5.50mm Clover crochet hooks

With colour 1 and 5.50mm hook make 29ch loosely.

Change to 4.50mm hook, work 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (28dc)

Row 2 – 1ch, 1tr into base of 1ch, tr2tog (see abbrev) into each of next 26dc, 1tr into last dc. Fasten off. Turn. (26, tr2tog + 2tr)

Join in colour 2

Row 3 – 1ch, 1tr into base of 1ch, work tr2tog into each of next 26, tr2tog, 1tr into tr. Turn.

Row 4 – Rpt Row 3 once. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in colour 1.

Row 5 – Rpt Row 3 once. Fasten off. Turn.

Rpt Row 3 in colour sequence as follows:-
# Twice in colour 2
Once in colour 1 #

Rpt from # to # until you have 17 rows worked in all or your work measures approx 9.5 inches from beginning. Turn.

Row 18 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn. Fasten off.

Join in colour 2

Border – With 5.50mm hook work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc across top of cloth, 3dc into corner, 26dc evenly into row ends down first side of cloth, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting ch edge, 3dc into corner, 26dc evenly into row ends up second side of cloth, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work two more rows of 1dc into each dc around cloth to end, working 3dc into corners and ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Join colour 1 and rpt last row once. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in trim off any loose ends of yarn.
