Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

150 grams of King Cole Big Value Baby DK yarn
Small amount King Cole Big Value Baby DK in color 2 (Flower)

An equivalent yarn would be a light worsted #3

4.00mm & 4.50mm crochet hooks

3 Medium Buttons, small amount of 6mm wide ribbon

GAUGE – 4dc & 2.5 rows measures approx 1 inch

Worked in one piece, starting with yoke.

With 4.00mm hook ch55, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in the next 6ch’s (back), 3dc in next ch, 1dc in next 8ch’s (shoulder), 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 17ch’s (front), 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 8ch’s. (shoulder), 3dc in next ch, 1dc in the next 8ch’s (back). Turn. (60dc + ch3)

2nd Row – (Inc Row) ch3, * 1dc in each dc to next 3dc group, 1dc in next dc, 3dc in centre dc of 3dc group, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc group, 1dc in next dc, 3dc in centre dc of 3dc group, 1dc in each dc to end, work 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (68dc + ch3)

3rd to 7th Row – rpt 2nd Row each row will increase by 8 stitches and you should have at the end of the 7th Row. Turn. (108dc + ch3)

8th Row – ch3, 1dc in next 4dc, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next 3dc, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next 5dc, 5dc in next dc, 1dc in next 7dc, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next 6dc, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next 7dc, 5dc in next dc, 1dc in next 9dc, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next 11dc, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next 9dc, 5dc in next dc, 1dc in next 7dc, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next 6dc, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next 7dc, 5dc in next dc, 1dc in next 5dc, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next 3dc, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next 4dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Change to 4.50mm hook.

Commence Skirt (Divide for Armholes) ch3, (1dc, ch1, 2dc) in next dc, * skip 1dc, 1 shell (see abbrev) in next dc, * rpt from * to * 7 more times, skip 1dc,  work 2dc in next dc, ch1, skip next 28dc, work 2dc in next dc, rpt from * to * 18 more times, skip 1dc, work 2dc in next dc, ch1, skip 28dc, work 2dc in next dc, rpt from * to * 9 more times to 3tch, skip 3tch, sl st to top of ch3 on the beginning of row to make a round. Turn. (38 shell groups including each of the 2 shells under arms)

Helpful Tip:          Dividing Armholes Pictorial

First Row – ch1, sl st in each st to ch1 space on shell, ch5, 1dc in same ch1 space, work 1vst (see abbrev) in ch1 space of each shell to end, sl st to 3rd of ch5 on beginning of row. Turn. (38vst)

Second Row – ch1, sl st to ch2 space on vst, (ch3, 1dc, ch1, 2dc) in same ch2 space, 1 shell in each ch2 space of vst to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt First & Second Rows until 17 rows have been worked in all from yoke.

Work First Row once. Turn.

Next Row – ch1, * work (1sc, 5dc, 1sc) in ch2 space on vst, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sc. You should now have 19 pattern rows worked in all.

Fasten off. Change to 4.00mm hook.

Sleeves x 2 – With RS facing, rejoin your yarn to side of dc on skirt under arm, ch3, work 1dc in same space, 1dc in each dc around sleeve, 2dc in side of dc on opposite side of sleeve, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. DNT. (31dc + ch3)

Next Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, skip 1dc, * work (1sc, 3dc, 1sc) in next dc, skip 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sc on the beginning of row. (10 groups)

Fasten off. Continue with 4.00mm hook from now on.

Button/Buttonhole Bands – Starting at lower edge on right hand back edge, with RS facing, rejoin yarn to side of dc on first row of skirt, ch1, 1sc in same space, work 17 more sc evenly up back edge to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch around the neck edge, 3sc in corner, 18sc evenly down left back edge. Turn.

Next Row – ch1, work 1sc in each of next 19sc to neck edge. Turn. (20sc)

Rpt last row once working from neck edge down to end.

Fasten off.

Buttonholes – Return to first side of back edge, rejoin yarn to the centre sc on neck edge, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in next 7sc, * rpt from * to * once more, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn. (3 buttonholes)

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc and ch2 space to end. (20sc)

Fasten off.

Finishing – Close small gap under arms, weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes, thread ribbon through stitches under yoke, attach flower to front of dress.
