Abbreviations
RS. Right Side
ch. Chain
dc. Double Crochet
tr. Treble Crochet
rpt. Repeat
yrh. Yarn Round Hook
tr2tog. Leaving last loop of each tr on hook, work 2tr into same space or stitch, yrh and draw through all loops.
Base of ch. Work into first stitch
3ch counts as first tr
Approx Size: 11 Inches x 67 Inches
Materials
I have used:-
100 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in each of the colours 1 & 2
6.50mm & 6.00mm crochet hooks
Made in multiples of 4 + 2
With 6.50mm hook and colour 1, make 250ch, (RS) change to a 6.00mm hook, work 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, * make 5ch, miss 3ch, 1dc into the next ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (62, 5ch spaces)
Row 2 – 5ch, 1dc into 5ch space, make 2ch, tr2tog (see abbrev) into next dc, * make 2ch, 1dc into 5ch space, make 2ch, tr2tog into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 5ch space and dc, make 2ch, 1dc into 5ch space, make 2ch, 1tr into last dc. Turn. (61, tr2tog)
Row 3 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 5ch, miss (2ch, dc and 2ch), 1dc into top of next tr2tog, * rpt from * to * to end working last dc into 3rd of the 5ch. Turn.
Row 4 – 5ch, 1dc into 5ch space, make 2ch, tr2tog into next dc, * make 2ch, 1dc into 5ch space, make 2ch, tr2tog into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 5ch space and dc, make 2ch, 1dc into 5ch space, make 2ch, 1tr into last dc. Turn.
Rpt Rows 3 & 4 six more times.
Rpt Row 3 once. Fasten off.
Join in colour 2 and rpt Row 4 once.
Rpt Rows 3 & 4 six more times until 28 rows have been worked in all. Turn.
Change to 6.50mm hook
Row 29 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 3ch, miss (2ch, dc and 2ch), 1dc into top of next tr2tog, * rpt from * to * to end working last dc into 3rd of the 5ch. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in all loose ends of yarn and trim off.
