Piped Edge Cushion Cover

A piped edge cushion cover for you to enjoy making, this simple, quick and easy to crochet cover can be used in your living area or in your bedroom, I have used three colors but you can make it with two or just one if you prefer.

Designed using the Brick Stitch on a medium sized hook, hope you have fun making it!

Abbreviations
RS.       Right Side

ch.       Chain
sc.        Single Crochet
dc.        Double Crochet
rpt.       Repeat
sl st.     Slip Stitch
DNT.    Do Not Turn

Crab Stitch. Working left to right work 1sc in each sc backwards.

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

ch3 counts as first dc

Materials
I have used:-
200 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in color 1
15 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in contrast colors 2 & 3

OR an equivalent yarn would be:-
7oz of Worsted Weight #3 in color 1
0.55oz of Worsted Weight #3 in contrast colors 2 & 3

5.50mm crochet hook
One 15 x 15 Inch Cushion Form

GAUGE – 5dc & 3 rows measures approx 1 inch

Made in Multiples of 3 stitches

Tip:  Crochet over loose ends of yarn and trim off excess as you go.

Make 2 pieces – Using color 1, ch66, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Fasten off. Turn. (63dc + ch3)

Pattern Row 1 – Join in contrast color, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch2, skip 2dc, 1sc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, working last sc in top of ch3. Fasten off. Turn.

Pattern Row 2 – Rejoin color 1, ch3, work * 2dc in next ch2 space, 1dc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end. Fasten off. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 alternating the contrast colors 1 & 2 on Pattern Row 1 until 43 rows have been worked in all or measures approx 15.5 Inches.

Joining & Piped Edging With RS facing of each piece, working through the both layers, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * work 64sc evenly in row ends down first side, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch along the starting edge, 64sc evenly in row ends up second side, insert the cushion form and continue to work 1sc in each dc to end to close, 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. DNT.

Work 1 row of crab stitch (see abbrev) around cushion cover to end, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
