Simple Textures Scarf Pattern – I have used a few textured stitch patterns for this thick adult winter scarf, made in a worsted weight #4 yarn (aran for UK) you can find the free crochet pattern below.

Instructions are included on how many multiples this scarf is in, so you can make it longer if you want or reduce the foundation chain for a kids version.

I have crocheted it in a solid cream colour, but a variegated yarn would be a nice option too!

For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

130 grams of King Cole Comfort Aran

5.50mm Crochet Hook

TENSION – 4st & 3 rows measures approx 1 inch

Made in multiples of 3 + 2

Make 197ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (196dc)

2nd Row – (RS) 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn.

3rd Row – 2ch, 1htr into stitch at base of 2ch, 1htr into each dc to end. Turn. (196htr)

4th Row – Working into BLO work 1htr into stitch at base of 2ch, 1htr into each htr to end. Turn.

5th Row – 1ch, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into stitch at base of 1ch, * miss 2htr, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into next htr, * rpt from * to * to last 3htr, miss 2htr, work 1dc into last htr. Turn. (65 groups)

6th Row – 1ch, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into stitch at base of 1ch, * miss 2st, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3st, miss 2st, work 1dc into last dc. Turn.

Rpt 6th Row six more times. Turn.

Thirteenth Row – 2ch, 1htr into stitch at base of 2ch, 1htr into each st to end. Turn. (196htr)

Fourteenth Row – Working into BLO work 1htr into stitch at base of 2ch, 1htr into each htr to end. Turn.

Fifteenth & Sixteenth Rows – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, 1dc into each st to end. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends.
