With colour 1 make 44ch loosely, work (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into second ch from hook, * miss 2ch, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into next ch, * rpt * to * to last 3ch, miss 2ch, 1dc into last ch. Turn. (14 groups)
2nd Row – 1ch, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, * miss (tr and htr), work (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last (1tr, htr and dc) miss tr and htr, work 1dc into last dc. Turn.
Rpt 2nd Row. Fasten off.
Rpt 2nd Row in colour sequence as follows:-
Three times in colour 2, three times in colour 1. You should have 9 rows worked in all from beginning. Fasten off.
Join in colour 2.
Border – 1ch, work 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each stitch across, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each row end down first side of cover, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting ch edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each row end up second side of cover, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
Button Loop Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at base of the 1ch, 1dc into each of next 5dc, make 20ch, ss to side of dc last worked, 1dc into each dc into next 5dc, 3dc into corner, work 1dc into each dc around the cover to end, working 3dc into 2 remaining corners and 1dc into last corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, attach button to correspond with button loop.
