This crochet beginners scarf is made in a basic double crochet stitch from beginning to end, it includes simple increasing and decreasing stitches.

yrh. Yarn Round Hook
Inc. Increase
Dec. Decrease by tr2tog.
Leaving last loop of each tr on hook, work 1tr into each of next 2st, yrh and draw through all loops.
Base of ch. Work into first stitch
Finished Size Approx: 58″ length x 18 Inches (widest part)
Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn I have used:-
200 grams of Caron Cakes
OR
200 grams of Random Aran Yarn
TENSION – 4tr & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch

Make 7ch, 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (4tr + 3ch)
Row 2 – (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 2tr into top of 3ch. Turn.
Rpt Row 2 until you have 57tr + 3ch in all or you have worked 53 rows and work measures approx 29 Inches from beginning.
Row 54 – (Dec Row) 3ch, 1tr into each tr to last tr and 3ch to turn with work tr2tog (see abbrev) over tr and 3ch. Turn.
Rpt Row 54 until you have 4tr + 3ch in all.
Next Row – 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
