Crochet Evening Wrap – The inspiration for me to design this wrap was the sun going down and the evenings going cooler.

When I needed something light and warm to wear, I throw this beautiful wrap around my shoulders.

It’s very simple to make with no increase or decrease, all you have to do is choose your colours and off you go!

I have made the samples in lion brand vanna’s style and stylecraft special double knitting.

Shell.         (2tr, 1ch, 2tr) into same stitch or space.

3ch counts as first tr
4ch counts as first tr + 1ch
5ch counts as first tr + 2ch

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

Finished Size Approx: 54 long x 12 Inches wide

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn I have used approximately:-
100 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in colour 1
100 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in colour 2

6.00mm Clover Crochet Hook

TENSION – 4tr & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

With 6.00mm hook and colour 1, make 201ch loosely, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (197tr + 3ch)

2nd Row – 3ch, miss 2tr, 1 shell (see abbrev) into next tr, * miss 3tr, 1 shell into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr and 3tch, miss 2tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (49 shells, 1tr + 3tch)

3rd Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 1 shell into 1ch space of next shell, 1dc into space between next 2 shells, * rpt from * to * to end, working last dc into top of 3tch. Turn.

4th Row – 5ch, 1dc into 1ch space of next shell, * make 3ch, work 1dc into 1ch space on next shell, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr and dc, make 2ch, miss 2tr, work 1tr into dc. Turn.

5th Row – 3ch, 2tr into 2ch space, 1tr into dc, * 3tr into 3ch space, 1tr into dc, * rpt from * to * to last 5tch, work 2tr into the 5ch space, 1tr into 3rd of the 5ch. Turn.

Fasten off. Join in colour 2

6th Row – 4ch, miss 1tr, work 1tr into next tr, * make 1ch, miss 1tr, 1tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last tr into top of 3tch. Turn.

7th Row – 3ch, 1tr into each 1ch space and tr to last 4tch, work 1tr into 4ch space, 1tr into 3rd of 4ch. Turn. (198tr + 3ch)

Rpt 6th & 7th Rows 4 more times. Turn.

16th Row – Rpt 6th Row. Turn.

Fasten off.  Join in colour 1.

17th Row – Rpt 7th Row. Turn.

Rpt 2nd to 5th Rows. Fasten off. DNT at the end of 21st Row.

22nd Row – With RS facing join colour 2 to the top of 3tch on the beginning of row just worked, # make 1ch, work 1dc into base of 1ch, miss 2tr, 1 shell into next tr, miss 1tr, 1dc into next tr, * miss 1tr, 1 shell into next tr, miss 1tr, 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (49 shells)

Fasten off. Join in colour 1

23rd Row – ss into base of 1ch, * 1dc into each of next 2tr, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into next 1ch space, 1dc into each of next 2tr, ss into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Fasten off.

With RS facing join colour 2 to first tr on starting chain edge, rpt 22nd Row from # along to end. Fasten off. Turn.

Next Row – Join colour 1 and rpt 23rd Row.

With WS facing and using colour 2, work 44dc evenly into row ends along both of the short sides of wrap. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.

With RS facing join color 2 to first dc on starting chain edge, rpt 22nd Row from # along to end. Fasten off. Turn.

Next Row – Join color 1 and rpt 23rd Row.

With WS facing and using color 2, work 44sc evenly in row ends along both of the short sides of wrap. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
