Crochet Rabbit Face Applique – My cute bunny motif can be added to many projects like scarves, blankets, bags or basically anything you can think of lol.
There is no right or wrong time of the year to use this rabbit, it is great for Easter or to add to Christmas gifts.

I have used a different colour for the bow, but you can use the same color as you have used for ears and nose if you want.

Abbreviations UK
ch. Chain
dc. Double Crochet
tr. Treble Crochet
rpt. Repeat
ss. Slip Stitch
Inc. Increase
Base of ch. Work into first stitch
3ch counts as first tr
Finished size approx: 3 inch diameter (not including ears)
Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used:-
Small amounts of King Cole Comfort DK in colours 1 & 2
5.00mm crochet hook, 2 small buttons for eyes.

UK INSTRUCTIONS:
Face – Made in rounds without turning.
With colour 1 make a magic circle, work 3ch, 12tr into circle, close circle pulling loose thread, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. (12tr + 3ch)
Round 2 – (Inc Round) 3ch, work 2tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. (24tr + 3ch)
Round 3 – (Inc Round) 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, * 2dc into next tr, 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last end, ss to first dc on beginning of round. Fasten off. (37dc)
Ears x 2 – With colour 2 make 7ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each of next 4dc, 3dc into last dc, working along opposite side of starting chain, work 1dc into each of next 5ch, ss to first ch. Fasten off. Turn. (13dc)
Join in colour 1 and starting with 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Fasten off leaving a length of yarn to stitch ears to top of face.
Nose – Make 5ch, ss to first ch. Fasten off.
Bow – With colour 2, make 8ch loosely, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (7dc)
Starting with 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end. Turn. Rpt last row until 4 rows have been worked in all. Fasten off.
Wrap colour 2 round middle of dc piece several times to make the bow.
Finishing – Weave in any loose ends of yarn, stitch ears evenly to top of face (about 2tr’s apart), Use small buttons for eyes, darn on nose and mouth with yarn as in picture, attach bow to bottom of face.
