Approx Finished Size:   13.5 x 10 inches

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

65 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in colour 1
Small amount of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in colour 2

4.50mm Clover Crochet Hook

TENSION – 5dc & 6 rows measures approx 1 inch

Made in multiples of 4 + 2.

With colour 1 make 34ch, (WS) work 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, * make 3ch, miss 3ch, 1dc into next ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (8, 3ch spaces)

2nd Row – 3ch, (RS) 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1dc into 3ch space, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3ch space and dc, work 1dc into 3ch space, 2tr into last dc. Turn. (7, 3tr groups)

3rd Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 3ch, miss (1tr, 1dc, 1tr), work 1dc into centre tr of 3tr group, * rpt from * to * to last (tr, dc, tr and 3tch), make 3ch, miss the (tr, dc, tr) work 1dc into top 3tch. Turn.

4th Row – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1dc into 3ch space, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3ch space and dc, work 1dc into 3ch space, 2tr into last dc. Turn.

Rpt 3rd and 4th Rows until 14, 3tr group rows have been worked. Turn.

Work 3rd Row once. Turn.

Border
First Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 3dc into 3ch space, miss 1dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3ch space and dc, work 3dc into 3ch space, 3dc into dc, work dc evenly into row ends down first side of runner, 3dc into corner, rpt from * to * to last 3ch space and dc, work 3dc into 3ch space, 3dc into dc, work dc evenly into row ends up second side of runner, work 1dc into corner, ss to first dc. Fasten off. Turn.

Second Row – Join in colour 2, starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work three rows of 1dc into each dc around runner to end, working 3dc into corners, ss to first dc and turn at the end of each row. Fasten off.

Join in colour 1, work three more rows in dc. Turn.

Eighth Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 4ch, miss 3dc, work 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * around runner to end, working 3dc into each corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Ninth Row – 3ch, 2tr into base of 3ch, * 1dc into 4ch space, 5tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 4ch space, work 1dc into 4ch space, 2tr into base of 3ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn.
