Crochet Wine Bottle Cover – Dress your bottles up with this stylish cover, I have crocheted it in cotton yarn, but you could use acrylic if you want.

Designed to fit a standard size 75cl wine bottle, it would be great for birthday gifts and look lovely in Christmas colours for presents too.

25 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in Colour 1
25 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK Colour 2
TENSION – 6tr and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch

UK INSTRUCTIONS:
Worked in rounds without turning.
With colour 1, make 5ch, join with a ss to first ch to form a ring, make 3ch, (RS) work 11tr into ring, join with ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (11tr + 3ch)
2nd Round – 3ch, 1tr in base of 3ch, 2tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (23tr + 3ch)
3rd Round – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (35tr + 3ch)
4th Round – Working into back loop of stitch only work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. (36dc)
Work through both loops of stitch from now on.
5th Round – 3ch, * miss 1dc, work tr2tog group (see abbrev) into next dc, miss 1dc, 1tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, miss 1dc, work tr2tog group into next dc, miss 1dc, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (9 groups)
6th Round – 3ch, work * tr2tog group into 1ch space of next tr2tog group, fptr (see abbrev) around next tr, * rpt from * to * to last tr2tog group, work tr2tog group into 1ch space of group, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row.
Rpt 6th Round until 12 rounds have been worked.
Fasten off. Join in Colour 2
Work 6th Round 10 more times.
Fasten off.
Crochet less or more rows to make a shorter or longer cover.
Chain Tie – Using colour 1 make a chain length of 80ch. Fasten off.
Make 2 small pom-poms in colour 1 (I used Clover pom-pom maker 25)
Finishing – Weave in all ends of yarn and trim, thread chain tie through gaps in stitches, approx 3 rows from the top of the cover and make a bow, attach a pom-pom to each end of tie.
