Base of ch. Work in first stitch

ch3 counts as first dc.

Approx size to fit:  2.75 inch base diameter wine bottle

Materials
25 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in color 1

25 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK color 2

An equivalent yarn would be a light worsted #3 cotton

4.00mm Clover crochet hook

GAUGE – 6dc and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Worked in rounds without turning.

With color 1, ch5, join with a sl st to first ch to form a ring, ch3, (RS) work 11dc in ring, join with sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (11dc + ch3)

2nd Round – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 2dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (23dc + ch3)

3rd Round – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (35dc + ch3)

4th Round – Working in back loop of stitch only ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. (36sc)

Work through both loops of stitch from now on.

5th Round – ch3, * skip 1sc, work dc2tog group (see abbrev) in next sc, skip 1sc, 1dc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last 3sc, skip 1sc, work dc2tog group in next sc, skip 1sc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (9 groups)

6th Round – ch3, work * dc2tog group in ch1 space of next dc2tog group, fpdc (see abbrev) around next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc2tog group, work dc2tog group in ch1 space of group, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row.

Rpt 6th Round until 12 rounds have been worked.

Fasten off. Join in Color 2

Work 6th Round 10 more times.

Fasten off.

Crochet less or more rows to make a shorter or longer cover.

Chain Tie – Using color 1 make a chain length of 80ch. Fasten off.

Make 2 small pom-poms in color 1 (I used Clover pom-pom maker 25)

Finishing – Weave in all ends of yarn and trim, thread chain tie through gaps in stitches, approx 3 rows from the top of the cover and make a bow, attach a pom-pom to each end of tie.
