Diagonal Box Crochet Stitch Tutorial
Abbreviations USA
st. Stitch(es)
ch. chain
dc. Double Crochet
trc. Treble Crochet
rpt. Repeat
Base of ch. Work in first stitch
Using color 1, make a chain length in multiples of 6 + 4
1st Row – 1dc in 3rd ch from hook, * skip 3ch, 1trc in each of next 3ch, working across the front of the 3trc just made, work 1trc in each of the 3ch you skipped, * rpt from * to * to last ch, 1dc in last ch. Turn.
Fasten off. Join in color 2.
2nd Row – ch2, 1dc in base of ch2, 1dc in next 3trc, * skip 3trc, 1trc in each of next 3trc, working across the back of the 3trc just made, work 1trc in each of the 3trc you skipped, * rpt from * to * until last 3trc and 1dc, work 1dc in each of the 4st. Turn.
Fasten off. Join in color 1.
3rd Row – ch2, 1dc in base of ch2, skip 3st, * 1trc in each of next 3trc, working across the front of the 3trc just made, work 1trc in each of the 3st you skipped, skip 3st, * rpt from * to * to last 7st, skip 3st, 1trc in each of next 3st, working across the front of the 3trc just made, work 1trc in each of the 3st you skipped, 1dc in last dc. Turn.
Fasten off. Join in colour 2.
Rpt 2nd and 3rd Rows changing colors 1 & 2 as set until required length.
