Materials
I have used:-
70 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in colour 1
60 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in colour 2
65 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in colour 3
5.50mm crochet hook
TENSION – 4tr & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch
With colour 1 make 51ch loosely, (RS) work 3tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each of next 46ch, 6tr into next ch, working along the opposite side of starting ch, work 1tr into each of next 46ch, 3tr into last ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (104tr + 3ch)
Row 2 – 3ch, 1tr into each of next 4tr, * miss 1tr, (1ps, 1ch, 1ps) into next tr, (see abbrev for ps) miss 1tr, 1tr into each of next 5tr, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr, miss 1tr, (1ps, 1ch, 1ps) into next tr, miss 1tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (13, ps groups)
Row 3 – 3ch, * 1ps group (see abbrev for ps group) into 1ch space of next ps, 1tr into each of next 5tr, * rpt from * to * to last ps group and 4tr, 1ps group into 1ch space of ps group, 1tr into each of 4tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.
Row 4 – 3ch, 1tr into each of next 4tr, * 1ps group into 1ch space of next ps, 1tr into each of next 5tr, * rpt from * to * to last ps group, 1ps group into 1ch space of ps group, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.
Row 5 – Rpt Row 3.
Row 6 – Rpt Row 4.
Fasten off.
Join in colour 2.
Row 7 – 3ch, 1tr into each of next (ps, 1ch space, ps & tr), * miss 1tr, 1ps group into next tr, miss 1tr, 1tr into each of next (tr, ps, 1ch space, ps & tr), * rpt from * to * to last 3tr, miss 1tr, 1ps group into next tr, miss 1tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.
Rpt Rows 3 & 4 twice.
Row 12 – Rpt Row 7.
Rpt Rows 3 & 4 twice.
Fasten off.
Join in colour 3
Row 17 – Rpt Row 7.
Rpt Rows 3 & 4 twice.
Row 22 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each ps, 1ch space and tr to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (104dc)
Row 23 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
Rpt last row 6 more times. Turn.
Eyelet Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, make 2ch, miss dc, 1dc into last dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row.
Row 31 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. (104dc)
Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 6 more rows of 1dc into each dc to end, slip stitching and turning at the end of each row.
Fasten off at the end of last row.
Drawstring – With colour 2, make 151ch, ss into 2nd ch from hook, ss into each ch to end. Fasten off. (150ss)
Straps x 2 – With colour 1 make 100ch loosely, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (99dc)
Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.
Strap Edging – 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to last dc, 3dc into last dc, 1dc into row end down first side of strap, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along cast on edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into row end up second side of strap, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss to first dc.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn.
On the inside of the bag, 2 rows above the eyelet holes and approx 3.5 Inches in from each side, attach strap ends to front and back of bag.
Thread drawstring through eyelet holes, gather top of bag by pulling both sides of drawstring and tie.
