* yo, insert in stitch and pull up loop, *  rpt from * to * once, yo pull through 4 loops, yo pull through 2 loops.

ps Group. (1ps, ch1, 1ps)

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

ch3 counts as first dc

Approx Finished size:  14 Inches x 14 Inches (excluding straps)

Materials
I have used:-
70 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in color 1
60 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in color 2
65 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in color 3

OR an equivalent yarn would be:-
2.5oz of Worsted Weight #3 in color 1
2.15oz of Worsted Weight #3 in color 2
2.30oz of Worsted Weight #3 in color 3

5.50mm crochet hook

GAUGE – 4dc & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch

With color 1 ch51 loosely, (RS) work 3dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 46ch, 6dc in next ch, working along opposite side of starting ch, work 1dc in each of next 46ch, 3dc in last ch, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (104dc + ch3)

Row 2 – ch3, 1dc in each of next 4dc, * skip 1dc, (1ps, ch1, 1ps) in next dc, (see abbrev for ps) skip 1dc, 1dc in each of next 5dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, skip 1dc,
(1ps, ch1, 1ps) in next dc, skip 1dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (13, ps groups)

Row 3 – ch3, * 1ps group (see abbrev for ps group) in ch1 space of next ps, 1dc in each of next 5dc, * rpt from * to * to last ps group and 4dc, 1ps group in ch1 space of
ps group, 1dc in each of 4dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.

Row 4 – ch3, 1dc in each of next 4dc, * 1ps group in ch1 space of next ps, 1dc in each of next 5dc, * rpt from * to * to last ps group, 1ps group in ch1 space of ps group, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.

Row 5 – Rpt Row 3.

Row 6 – Rpt Row 4.

Fasten off.

Join in color 2.

Row 7 – ch3, 1dc in each of next (ps, ch1 space, ps & dc), * skip 1dc, 1ps group in next dc, skip 1dc, 1dc in each of next (dc, ps, ch1 space, ps & dc), * rpt from * to * to
last 3dc, skip 1dc, 1ps group in next dc, skip 1dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt Rows 3 & 4 twice.

Row 12 – Rpt Row 7.

Rpt Rows 3 & 4 twice.

Fasten off.

Join in color 3

Row 17Rpt Row 7.

Row 22 – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each ps, ch1 space and dc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (104sc)

Row 23 – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt last row 6 more times. Turn.

Eyelet Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 2sc, * rpt from * to * to last 2sc, ch2, skip sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row.

Row 31 – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc and ch2 space to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. (104sc)

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 6 more rows of 1sc in each sc to end, slip stitching and turning at the end of each row.

Fasten off at the end of the last row.

Drawstring – With color 2, ch130, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in each ch to end. Fasten off. (150 sl st)

Straps x 2 – With color 1 ch100 loosely, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (99sc)

Next Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Turn.

Strap Edging – ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to last sc, 3sc in last sc, 1sc in row end down first side of strap, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch along cast on edge, 3sc in corner, 1sc in row end up second side of strap, 1sc in base of ch1, sl st to first sc.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn.

On the inside of the bag, 2 rows above the eyelet holes and approx 3.5 Inches in from each side, attach strap ends to front and back of bag.

Thread drawstring through eyelet holes, gather top of bag by pulling both sides of drawstring and tie.
