Abbreviations
RS. Right Side
ch. Chain
sc. Single Crochet
dc. Double Crochet
rpt. Repeat
sl st. Slip Stitch
dc2tog. Leaving last loop of each dc on hook, work 2dc in next stitch or space, yo and pull through all loops.
dc3tog. Leaving last loop of each dc on hook, work 3dc in next stitch or space, yo and pull through all loops.
Base of ch. Work in first stitch
ch2 counts as first dc
Approx Finished size: 4.25 Inch diameter
Materials
For 6 Coasters I have used:-
10 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in color 1
20 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in color 2
10 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in color 3
OR an equivalent yarn would be:-
0.35oz of Worsted Weight #3 yarn in color 1
0.70oz of Worsted Weight #3 yarn in color 2
0.35oz of Worsted Weight #3 yarn in color 1
4.00mm crochet hook
Made in rounds without turning.
With color 1 make a magic circle, (RS) ch1, 12sc in circle, close circle by pulling loose thread, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. (12sc)
2nd Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch1, 1sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end, ch1, sl st to first sc on the beginning of row. (12, ch1 spaces)
3rd Row – sl st to first ch1 space, (ch2, dc2tog) in same ch1 space, * ch2, skip 1sc, dc3tog in next ch1 space, * rpt from * to * to last sc, ch2, skip sc, sl st to top of ch2 on beginning of row. Fasten off. (12, dc3tog) (see abbrev for dc2tog and dc3tog)
4th Row – Join in color 2 with a sl st to any ch2 space, (ch2, dc2tog, ch1, dc3tog) in same ch2 space, * ch1, skip dc3tog, (dc3tog, ch1, dc3tog) in next ch2 space, rpt from * to * to last dc3tog, ch1, skip dc3tog, sl st to top of ch2 on beginning of row. Fasten off. (24, dc3tog)
5th Row – Join in color 3 with a sl st to any ch1 space, ch1, (1sc, ch3, 1sc) in same space, * skip dc3tog, (1sc, ch3, 1sc) in next ch1 space, * rpt from * to * to last dc3tog, skip dc3tog, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in all loose ends of yarn and trim off.
