Base of ch. Work into first stitch
Approx Finished Size: 3.5 x 10 Inches (not including loop)
Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
Small amounts of Stylecraft Special DK in colours 1, 2 3
4.00mm Clover crochet hook, medium size button
**************************************************************
With colour 1 make 44ch loosely, work 1dc into second ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (43dc)
2nd Row – 1ch, (1dc, 2htr) into base of 1ch, * miss 2dc, (1dc, 2htr) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, miss 2dc, 1dc into last dc. Turn. Fasten off. (14 groups)
Join in colour 2
3rd Row – 1ch, (1dc, 2htr) into base of 1ch, * miss 2htr, (1dc, 2htr) into next htr, * rpt from * to * to last 3 stitches, miss 2htr, 1dc into last dc. Turn.
Rpt 3rd Row in colour sequence as follows:-
Once in colour 2, twice in colour 3, twice in colour 2.
Join in colour 1 and work 3rd Row once, Turn.
10th Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each stitch to end. Turn. Fasten off.
Border – Join in colour 2, make 1ch, work 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc across, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each row end down first side of cover, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting ch edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each row end up second side of cover, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
Button Loop Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 5dc, make 20ch, ss to side of dc last worked, 1dc into each dc into next 6dc, 3dc into corner, work 1dc into each dc around the cover to end, working 3dc into 2 remaining corners and 1dc into last corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, attach button to correspond with button loop.
