Base of ch. Work into first stitch.

Approx Finished Size:   4.5 x 4.5 Inches 

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

60 grams of Stylecraft Special DK yarn (for 6 coasters)

4.00mm Clover Crochet Hook

Make 18ch loosely, work (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into 4th ch from hook, * miss 2ch, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, miss 1ch, 1htr into last ch. Turn. (5, 2ch spaces)

2nd Row – 3ch, work 3tr into each 2ch space to end, 1tr into top of tch. Turn.

3rd Row – 2ch, miss 1tr, * work (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into next tr, miss 2tr, * rpt from * to * to last tr and 3tch, miss tr, 1htr into top of tch. Turn.

Rpt Second and Third Rows twice more. Turn.

Rpt 2nd Row once. DNT.

Border – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 15dc evenly along into row ends down first side of coaster, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting ch edge, 3dc into corner, work 15dc evenly along into row ends up second side of coaster, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each tr along top of coaster, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc around coaster, working 3dc into the corners, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Pretty Edge – 1ch, (1dc, 3ch, 4tr) into base of 1ch, * miss 3dc, (1dc, 3ch, 2tr) into next dc, * rpt from * to * around, working (1dc, 3ch, 4tr) into each of the corners, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
