Open Shell Crochet Stitch

I have used 2 colors for the sample and a 4.50mm hook.

Stitches Used

sc.     Single Crochet
dc.    Double Crochet
Group.  (1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1dc) into next stitch or space.

Make a chain length loosely in multiples of 4, work 1sc into 2nd ch from hook, * miss 1ch, (1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1dc) into next ch, miss 1ch, 1sc into next ch * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, miss 1ch, 1dc into last ch. Turn.

Pattern Row – ch1, 1sc into base of ch1, * (1dc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1dc) into next sc, 1sc into centre dc of group * rpt from * to * to end, 1dc into last sc. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row until you have the amount of rows you need.

Weave in and trim ends.
