Abbreviations
WS.    Wrong Side

RS.     Right Side
ch.     Chain
dc.     Double Crochet
tr.      Treble Crochet
rpt.    Repeat
ss.      Slip Stitch
yrh.   Yarn Round Hook

5tr group. 5tr into same space or stitch

tr2tog.  Leaving last loop of each tr on hook, work 2tr into same space or stitch, yrh and draw through all loops.

tr2tog groups. (tr2tog, 2ch, tr2tog) into same stitch or space

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

3ch counts as first tr

Finished size approx:  7 Inch Diameter

Materials
I have used:-
Oddments of Stylecraft Special DK in 2 Colours
Oddments of 8ply yarn for Australia

4.00mm crochet hook

TENSION – 5tr and 2 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Made in rounds without turning

With colour 1 make a magic circle (RS) work 1ch, 12dc into circle, close circle pulling loose thread, ss to first dc on beginning of row. (12dc)

Row 2 – 4ch, * 1tr into next dc, make 1ch, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to 3rd of 4ch on the beginning of row. Fasten off. (11tr, 12, 1ch spaces + 3ch)

Row 3 – Join in colour 2 with a ss to first 1ch space, make 3ch, 2tr into same space, 3tr into each remaining 1ch space to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (35tr + 3ch)

Row 4(See abbreviations for tr2tog).
3ch, (1tr, 2ch, tr2tog) into base of 3ch, miss 2tr, * (tr2tog, 2ch, tr2tog) into next tr, miss 2tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. (12, tr2tog Groups)

Row 5 – Join in colour 1 with a ss to first 2ch space, make 3ch, work 4tr into same space, * 2ch, miss next 2 tr2tog, work 5tr into next 2ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, make 2ch, miss last (tr2tog, 3ch to turn with and tr), make 2ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (12, 5tr groups)

Row 6 – 3ch, 1tr into each of next 4tr, * make 2ch, 1dc into 2ch space, make 2ch, 1tr into each of next 5tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch space, make 2ch, 1dc into 2ch space, make 2ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Row 7 – Join in colour 2 with a ss to top of 3ch on previous row, make 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each of next 3tr, 2tr into next tr, * make 2ch, miss (2ch, 1dc, 2ch) work 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 3tr, 2tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, make 2ch, miss (2ch, 1dc, 2ch), ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row.

Row 8 – 3ch, 1tr into each of next 6tr, * make 2ch, 1dc into 2ch space, make 2ch, 1tr into each of next 7tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch space, make 2ch, 1dc into 2ch
space, make 2ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off.

FinishingWeave in all loose ends of yarn and trim.
