Two cluster ridge stitch, free written tutorial on how to crochet this lovely stitch, ideal for blankets and many other projects.

I have used a worsted weight yarn and large hook, but it will work with most plys and hook sizes.

Two Cluster Ridge Stitch Tutorial UK

Skill Level: Intermediate

Abbreviations UK
ch.
        Chain

dc.        Double Crochet
htr.       Half Treble Crochet
rpt.       Repeat
yrh.      Yarn Round Hook
flo.       Front Loop Only
blo.      Back Loop Only

tr2tog.       Leaving last loop of each tr on hook, work 2tr into next htr, yrh, pull through all loops.

Base of ch. Work into first stitch.

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Made sideways, worked in multiples of any odd number + 2.

I have made 29ch for the sample, work 1htr into 3rd ch from hook, 1htr into each ch to end. Turn. (27htr)

2nd Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, * tr2tog into next stitch, 1dc into next stitch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

3rd Row – 2ch, 1htr into the stitch at the base of the 2ch, 1htr into each stitch to end. Turn.

4th Row – Working into FLO for this row, (see abbrev) make 2ch, work 1htr into the stitch at the base of the 2ch, 1htr into each stitch to end. Turn.

5th Row – Working into BLO for this row, make 1ch, work 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each stitch to end. Turn.

Repeat 2nd to 5th Rows until required length, you can change to contrast colour on tr2tog rows if you wish.
