Sweet smiley and cheeky monkey face appliqué, monkeys are such lovable creatures and I’m sure everyone will love a gift adorned with this one.
It can be crocheted up in just an hour depending on your hook speed lol, it’s simple and super cute.
The bows are optional, but I think it gives them a personality, add to many projects such as cushions, clothing, blankets etc.

Small amounts of Stylecraft Life DK in each of the 4 colors
Color 1 (Head), Color 2 (Ears & Face) Color 3 (Eyes, Nose & Mouth), Color 4 (Bow)
Or
Small amounts of Worsted Weight #3 in each of the 4 colors.
Head – With color 1 make a magic circle, (RS) ch3, 12dc in circle, close circle pulling loose thread, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. DNT. (12dc + ch3)
Next Row – ch3, work 2dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. DNT. (24dc + ch3)
Rpt last row once. Fasten off. DNT. (48dc + ch3)
Ears – Skip 10dc, join color 2 to next dc, work (1sc, 1hdc, 1dc) in next dc, 3trc in next dc, (1dc, 1hdc, 1sc) in next dc, (first ear made) Fasten off.
Skip 22dc, join color 2 to next dc, (1sc, 1hdc, 1dc) in next dc, 3trc in next dc, (1dc, 1hdc, 1sc) in next dc, (second ear made) Fasten off.
Starting at sl st join and using color 1, work 1sc in each stitch around head & both
ears to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off.
Face – Using color 2 make magic circle, ch1, 12sc in circle, close the circle by pulling the loose thread, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. DNT. (12sc)
Next Row – ch3, work 2dc in each sc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. DNT. (24dc + ch3)
Next Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next dc, 1hdc in next dc, 2dc in next dc, 1hdc in next dc, 1sc in next dc, sl st in next dc, skip 2dc, 7dc in next dc, skip 2dc, sl st in next dc, skip 2dc, 7dc in next dc, skip 2dc, sl st in next dc, 1sc in next dc, 1hdc in next dc, 2dc in next dc, 1hdc in next dc, 1sc in next 2dc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off. (31st)
Bow – With color 4, ch8, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn.
Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc to end. Turn.
Rpt last row until 4 rows have been worked in all. Fasten off.
Wrap color 4 round middle of sc piece several times to make the bow, knot yarn at back of bow to secure.
Finishing – Weave in all loose ends of yarn and trim, with RS of head facing attach face towards the bottom of the head, use color 3 to darn on eyes, nose and mouth, (see picture) attach the bow.

I just took one class to learn how to crochet. I learned how to make a chain stitch how to make a A single stitch and a double stitch. I would like to learn how to read the patterns and also more instruction on other stitches. I learned with the largest needle and very large wall, which I found to be very cumbersome.
