Hexagon Motif

A hexagon motif is not that hard to make, don’t assume that it is too complicated, if you can crochet a granny square then you can easily make one of these.

Make them in less than an hour and use for blankets, soft toys, shawls etc!

Hexagon Motif Free Crochet Pattern

Pattern Number CNC57

Abbreviations USA
RS.    Right Side
ch.     Chain
sc.     Single Crochet
dc.     Double Crochet
rpt.    Repeat
sl stSlip Stitch
yo.     Yarn Over

dc2tog. Leaving last loop on hook of each dc, work 2dc in next space, yo, pull through all loops.

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

ch3 counts as first dc

Size approx: 4.5 Inches Diameter

Materials
I have used:-
Small amounts of Stylecraft Special DK in colors 1 & 2

OR an equivalent yarn would be:-
Small amounts of Worsted Weight #3 in colors 1 & 2

4.50mm crochet hook

Made in continuous rounds without turning until the end of Round 4

INSTRUCTIONS:

Using color 1 make magic circle, ch3, (RS) 11dc in circle, pull loose thread to close, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. Fasten off (11dc + ch3)

Round 2 – Join in color 2 to space between ch3 and next dc, ch1, 1sc in same space * ch1, skip 1dc, 1sc in space between next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, ch1, 1sc in space between last dc and ch3, ch1, sl st to first sc on the beginning of round. Fasten off. (12, ch1 spaces)

Round 3 – Join in color 1 with a sl st to first ch1 space, ch2, 1dc in same space, * ch2, skip 1sc, dc2tog in next ch1 space, * rpt from * to * to last sc, ch2, skip sc, sl st to first dc on beginning of round. Fasten off. (12, dc2tog)

Round 4 – sl st color 2 to first ch2 space, ch3, 2dc in same space, * skip dc2tog, work (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in next ch2 space, skip dc2tog, work 3dc in next ch2 space, * rpt from * to * to last ch2 space, work (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in ch2 space, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. Fasten off. Turn.

Round 5 – Join in color 1, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * 1sc in each dc to ch1 space, (1sc, ch1, 1sc) in same space, * rpt from * to * to last 4dc, 1sc in each of the 4dc, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in all loose ends of yarn and trim.
